Turkey hunting at Rain Crow Ranch is an added incentive to our trophy deer hunting. Hunters at Rain Crow can expect to have great success due to our low pressure of hunting on the ranch. We offer a limited number of turkey hunts during the spring only. Turkey season is regulated by the state of Missouri and is usually during late April and early May.
Rain Crow Ranch has been blessed with an abundance of Eastern wild turkey. Hence, the spring abounds with excitement when you walk out of the ranch house early in the morning and hear gobblers hammering in all directions.
If you are a turkey enthusiast your biggest dilemma will be which direction to pursue first. Deer hunters have even complained in the past of the nuisance of the birds with their ever-wary eyes who feed through the food plots and on acorns in the fall along with our deer population.
The turkeys on the ranch over the past years have endured very little hunting pressure and as a result there is a large population of older, long beards. These old, wise birds have their own bag of tricks and present a challenge to match against the most experienced hunter. The abundance of new birds also makes it a joy for the novice.
Our turkey hunts are 3-day hunts and you are entitled to two birds. Missouri regulations only allow hunting until 1 pm and the out of state license costs $125.
We furnish light breakfast fare before the hunt and offer a big lunch afterwards. Nights and evenings are on your own. We can supply guides upon request. These guides know the property and can also assist roosting birds in the afternoon.
