What an awesome hunt! The whitetail herd at RainCrow Ranch is unbelievable.
In November 2001 the Mossy Oak Camo Cameras teamed up with the crew from Ol’ Man Treestands to capture some of Missouri’s finest whitetail hunting during the rut.
The morning of the first hunt, Cuz Strickland and myself hunted a biologic field that was almost the beginning of the end of one episode of “Mossy Oak’s Hunting the Country”. Cuz and I saw a really good 8 point that would have made a great TV show but he never gave us the opportunity to take him on camera.
This time of year in Missouri the mature bucks at RainCrow are running the does like crazy. That afternoon we hunted another green field and saw another nice buck chasing a doe and
luck would be in his favor again, the opportunity to take him was not in the cards.
The next morning we decided to hunt the same location as we did the evening before and it didn't take long before the bucks were again chasing the does. We saw a really good 10 point following some does into the green field and this time the odds were in our favor.
I truly had a great time at RainCrow Ranch and enjoyed the fellowship with the owners, Mark and Patti Whisnant. Both are as fine a host as anyone can ask for.
